Elected Republicans Can Learn From this guy

On March 24, 37 year old Daniel Hannan, who refers to himself in his blog as a "backbench MEP" (Member of European Parliment for South East England), delivered a 3-minute speech criticising, in very strong terms, Prime Minister Gordon Brown's response to the global financial crisis.

A video clip of the speech went viral on YouTube that evening, and within 24 hours became the 'most viewed today' YouTube video worldwide. If you've not yet seen the video, it's posted here, along with a link to Hannan's blog and Wikipedia page.

Ironically, the BBC choose (initially at least) to totally ignore Hannan's cut-to-the-quick remarks. But the fact that so many people have taken three minutes to listen to what this fellow has to say is quite refreshing, and shows that people are becoming quite aware of where of happens when government goes out of control. At the moment, as Hannan points out, the UK is in far worse shape than the US and things are not getting any better. As you watch this video, you don't have to ask yourself "Could this happen here?" Unless you've been living in a cave, you know darn well that this is exactly what is happening here, and unless we get a few more republicans to display the kind of courage that this man displays, we're headed down the same path, over the same cliff.
