What 2 Can Do
These two seemingly harmless individuals set out in August with little more than $1300, a hidden camera and a sketchy plan to find out what was really going on in the offices of ACORN.... Even they are suprised at what they got.
Unless you happen to be ABC's Charlie Gibson (C'mon Charlie, it was all over the freakin' New York Post!), you are probably well aware of the sting operation that was carried out last month by activist filmmaker James O'Keefe, 25, and Hannah Giles, 20. With a hidden camera, the duo enterted several ACORN (You remember ACORN... The community activist group that helped push Obama into the White House) offices posing as a pimp and a prostitute trying to get help in financing a brothel. Instead of immediately being shown the door, the ACORN workers at all locations were more than helpful, dispensing information on how to skirt the laws and launder money. One ACORN worker even admitted in casual conversation how she had killed her husband. Check out the links below and you'll be right up to speed—I promise, you'll be shocked. This is investigative reporting at it's best. But here's the bottom line, evenwhile the mainstream media and President Obama try to ignore these hidden-camera videos that were released over the past 10 days, most members of the House and Senate, along with other governmental agencies, have recognized that if they want to keep their jobs, they can't possibly sit by and let ACORN suck up more taxpayer's money. Earlier in the week, the Census Bureau informed ACORN that their services would not be needed for taking the 2010 census, then on Monday, the Senate voted 83-7 to deny housing and community grant money to ACORN. Now, today, the House has voted to deny all federal funds to ACORN. Kudos to O'Keefe and Giles for a job well done.
